Artificial intelligence company Stability AI mostly prevailed against Getty Images on Tuesday in a British court battle over intellectual property.

So while it’s not a free-for-all, as such, the legalities of generative AI use are still pretty loose, which means that most applications, aside from direct misrepresentations of known characters/people/entities, are likely fine in a legal sense.

Roles that are seen as pathways for young workers in white-collar jobs are in “substantial” decline, the Stanford report warned.

Perplexity’s agreement with Getty appears to legitimize some of the startup’s previous use of Getty’s stock photos. Perplexity came under fire last year for a series of plagiarism accusations from several news organizations.
